We recently completed a project that involved using the new ArcGIS Server 9.3 REST API for Google Maps. The application itself turned out great but also led us down a new path. We wanted to see if we could get the application to perform some of the calls without the user interaction through the interface.

The team took a stab at creating some Yahoo! Pipes that harvested geoinformation off of news feeds via GeoNames. The output pipe then performs the REST request on ArcServer and outputs the maps and data we want. Now that it works great, we're going to see if we can wire Pipes and FME Server together to output some actual geodata other than GeoRSS or KML.
